Saturn – Woeful Malefic or Greatest Benefic ?

Saturn has through the years been criticized as a malefic and widely feared planet. “Saturn Return”, “Sade-Sati”, any and every Saturn transit was viewed as time-frames that bring hardships and struggles. To this day, I have clients who go wide-eyed if I mention any of these terms, and they promptly reach the conclusion that times are going to be tough. It’s totally understandable, and I agree Saturn does bring hardships. Lets look at the mythology of the planet and some prominent stories to understand this planet further.

Mythology is not just stories, there are always symbolic indications and I view every story as a metaphor to a deeper meaning. Putting these concepts in the form of stories helps hand it off to each generation in an easy way. So we will first go over the story and then analyze the deeper meaning. Always remember, astrology and planetary influences are very deeply rooted in human psyche and everything translates to a psychological interpretation. This is the reason why, understanding the concept, makes it a million times easier to bring about a positive change in your life.

Saturn Mythology

Per ancient Indian texts, the Sun God’s (Surya) wife Sandhya, couldn’t handle the blinding brightness of her husband’s rays. So she created her shadow image called Chaya who looked exactly like her and instructed her to act like Surya’s wife while she performed penance in the forest. Chaya did so, and bore a son by the Sun God –Saturn. Shani (Saturn) was born of dark complexion like his mother, and also inherited Chhaya’s serious and somber countenance.

Sandhya is deeply troubled when she learns the news of Shani’s birth as she had only instructed Chaya to act as Surya’s wife in her absence. Bearing a child crossed the boundaries of that instruction. She promptly returns home, destroys Chaya’s tangible body and reduces her to an illusion of Surya’s glare (Chaya in Hindi means “shadow”). Surya is not aware of the switch as they looked the same.

As time passed, Sandhya also bore children by Surya, most prominent of them being Yama (The Hindu deity of death). She ill-treated Chaya’s son, Shani as he reminded her of a mistake. She did everything she could to distance Shani from Surya. Shani grew without parental love or affection- depressed and directionless.

As the children came of age, the time came to endow them with their respective areas of responsibilities. Realizing this, Sandhya poisons Surya’s mind against the capabilities of Shani and requests him to divide his responsibilities between her children alone and not give Shani anything. Consumed by blind love for his wife, Surya agrees. So on the appointed day, Shani (the elder son) is ignored and all of Sandhya’s children are given important responsibilities. Notably, Yama is given the title of “Dharmaraj” and is given the responsibility of upholding truth in humanity. Although popularly known as “God of death” Yama merely appears at the appointed time of death so that he can transport the soul to the spiritual realm and present the updated karmic balance sheet of the life just gone by; and explain with compassion, righteousness and an unwavering approach – the good and bad deeds of the soul and the likely implications of same in this after-life.

After Surya spoke to all his children, Shani is left standing all alone. As a son and older brother, he feels humiliated and insulted. Unable to break the barriers of communication with his father; unable to invoke love from his mother; unable to express authority over his younger brother and sister, and unable to prove the capability that he believes he has – anger bubbles up inside him. Enraged, he kicks Sandhya in her womb and instantly regrets it. Shocked at witnessing this scene, Surya confronts Sandhya and Shani and demands the truth. Sandhya ultimately confesses how she had replaced herself with a  clone and all the events that unfolded thereafter. Surya is livid with rage and glows brighter and hotter than before. He accepts Shani as his legitimate older son, and makes amends by bestowing upon him the honor of a place in the solar system. Shani is installed as the planet that will govern “karma” and “dharma” in a horoscope. As a karmic guru, the harshest teacher, Shani ensures that you learn your lessons and pass your tests, so that you can rise higher up the karmic ladder.  Like his brother Yama, Shani does ensure dharma is upheld. However the difference is, Shani does so when you are alive. Yama does the same thing after a person’s death.

Psychological analysis

When we think of the psychological connotation of the story above, it is best to first understand what is Saturn Return. Saturn Return is the time when Saturn returns to its natal place in a person’s chart – during the 29th, 59th, and 88th year — or, in some cases, a few months before or after. Think of it as three 28-year periods. In any person’s life the 29th birthday normally denotes the development of a new consciousness and individuality. At this time will culminate the results and lessons from the first 28 years, which I like to refer as a combination of the soul’s past life karma, and the parents karma (for a child parents are the most influential people). Also note, most of the time a person’s first saturn return coincides with the parents second Saturn return, hence giving the parents the karmic results of the way they raised their child.  During the first Saturn return, existing structures which dont serve a purpose anymore will breakdown causing the native to panic and possibly go down to depression. On the flip side, it also teaches to become independent, thinks about having a family, bear children etc. At 56, the second Saturn return hits, new trends are usually set in motion in the psyche which could possibly arise from experiences from the children who are now grown up. All the lessons from the ages of 30 to 55, the way the person raised his/her children etc culminate during the second Saturn return and bring its karmic fruition.

The internet is crammed with tons of articles on how dreary Saturn Return can be, and how to overcome this tumultuous time. Let’s look at it from a different angle.

If you have already been through a Saturn Return, briefly think back to that time-frame. You will notice the events that happened were all in essence “weeding” off the areas in your life which didn’t serve a spiritual purpose anymore. Every soul is incarnated on this planet with the sole objective of growth and learning. During the first Saturn Return the soul decides to change gears and shift to a higher plane of awareness. Much like any change, growing pains are involved. And this is what you feel, pulling you (the physical entity) down to depression. But if you look inwards towards your soul for guidance I promise you will get reassurance that this is required for your soul growth. When you embrace this change, and look forward in anticipation of what the next 28 years will bring you, shedding your attachment to the past structures which were pulling you down, that’s when your soul becomes “enlightened”. Incidentally, the term “Enlightened”, literally means en-lighten the soul of the physical bindings. The soul has the divine knowledge of what your path on this planet should be. And the Vedic chart has the code to understand it.

When your second Saturn Return period rolls around, your children are adults. Interesting point here, if a native has taken his learning from his first Saturn Return and positively grown from those experiences, he raises his children as an enlightened parent. He would have cut any existing soul flaws from past lives, and hence those flaws don’t permeate further into his children. In this situation, the second Saturn Return, Saturn rolls around (once again with the intention of tallying the karmic points and giving out the results), and the native experiences good results. However, in most cases, since we are not aware of what Saturn is trying to do, we get depressed during our first Saturn Return and turn to drinking, drugs, bad relationships etc to find solace. Turning inwards to analyze and fix our flaws is far from our minds. In this situation, we raise kids who embody those same flaws and most of the time they magnify our flaws within them. Now when the second Saturn Return rolls around, you are left to observe helplessly as your children suffer the karmic fruits of their first Saturn Return. Its a cyclic process and when you understand this you can easily see it all starts with just taking that moment to understand that nobody is to be blamed. The only lesson here is, if you take the pain of learning the lessons, you benefit and through you your children will benefit. Ultimately Saturn is trying to relieve you of lifetimes of pain and suffering.

Now think back to the mythology. Saturn (Shani) himself endured insults, depression, prejudice, laziness and a sense of being directionless. After the turning point of the story (which can be metaphorically likened to the Saturn Return for an individual) he gets his rightful place where he is able to showcase his innate abilities of patience and hard-work. True to this story, the house Saturn is placed in will in early years be a hard area of life for the native but they near maturity and with perseverance they overcome the difficulties in that area.  So during your Saturn Return you will mostly face problems in areas pertaining to the house Saturn is placed in, and the houses it fully aspects. I will write another article about specific results of Saturn in various houses and how to take spiritual learnings to lessen the impact. I always tell my clients the solution is as simple as “changing your perception”.

Having said that, your question now could be, what are your tools to cruise through difficult Saturn timeframes. I can tell you without one shred of doubt, the single most important advice would be to shed your Ego. When we undergo depression or anger when Saturn breaks down existing structures, the one thing that stops us from realizing the greater good is our ego. If we dont shed the ego, we never get to the point where we stop blaming outside elements and start looking inwards. Thats when Shani becomes your greatest benefic and you will see the ultimate harvest blessings that follow.

Sun-Saturn Aspects

Before we close, lets briefly linger on the very interesting Sun-Saturn angle of mythology. Astrologically, the placement of Saturn and Sun in the same house or in hard aspect is not considered good. The age old animosity will resurface and the native may feel the  “lack of fatherly affection” and “yearning to make father proud but not able to do so”, “lack of self esteem” etc. It may also mean fear of an autocratic father, or a cold and often critical evaluation of the father’s behavior and character, causing or caused by estrangement. When I say “father”, remember it can be the actual father or any authoritative fatherly figure in the person’s life. (Psychology is rarely literal, its a play of perceptions, and each person’s is different). This constant “yearning to please” will disappear or get resolved after the person’s Saturn Return (coming of age) period.(Incidentally, my own horoscope has this aspect, in the form of a degree to degree lock and hence highly prominent). In the story, Saturn made his mark on the world when he was given a position of responsibility and recognized in the eyes of his father. Much the same, natives with Sun-Saturn aspects also rise in life when they resolve the early childhood memories of lack of recognition. Sun-Saturn aspect is a topic in itself, and has huge psychological connotations. I feel compelled to write in detail about this to give it full justice. So stay tuned for that 🙂

I close by aptly  quoting the Jungian and psychological astrologer Alice O. Howell :

“ We should enlist the cruel judge to help instead of hinder, and it finally gives Saturn permission to unmask himself as the Wise Old Man. He’s probably been hanging around moping in the psyche for years waiting to be invited! It comes as such a surprise to find out that one’s worst enemy can also become one’s best friend.”

Election Day !

As promised, here is my prediction for the Election Day – Nov 8 2016. It may seem like I am overdoing it, after all, you could say, it’s just a day, Shree. Trust me, I wouldn’t think of dedicating an entire article to this if I didn’t see the overwhelming astrological indications that day. So let’s dive right in..

I charted for 10 pm on Nov 8th at Washington DC. I am assuming by then the major part of the voting will be complete. Though looking at this chart, the results will be far from decided. I will get to that later.

Lets start by looking at the moon. Since the moon is the fastest moving, I like to look at it for precise predictions for a particular day. And what a story this Moon has to say !! Conjunct with Ketu and Neptune  ! Neptune stands for deception, trickery, deceit and guilt. Being in Aquarius (Saturn’s house) I tend to lean towards a karmic nature in this Neptune’s outcome. This is further reinforced by the Ketu-Rahu axis being right there with this combination. I have always felt Ketu and Rahu are the karmic indicators in a person’s chart. So all this sums up one conclusion – This election day will not be easy. There will be deceitful attempts, maybe manipulation of counts, possible hacking etc. Neptune conjunct with moon, tells us the early results will be foggy at best. Under Saturn’s ruler-ship, the results will be delayed, but ultimately the karmic scale will be balanced as Saturn ensures the truth is revealed, even though the path to get there may be tumultuous.

This Neptune and Ketu activity in Aquarius is the reason for the recent unfolding of conspiracies (think Wiki-Leaks, Veritas etc). This trend has been ongoing (remember Neptune is slow moving, so the effects have been visible for a while now). On election day Moon (which changes sign every 2.5 days) just happens to be right there with this particularly active combo and brings to fruition the past events, culminating in that day. This is not a coincidence. Just something to think about.

Now lets look at the ruler of the house where all this activity is happening. Saturn (ruler of Aquarius), is in Scorpio (once again a house that signifies deep dark secrets and conspiracies). Conjunct this Saturn is Mercury (which signifies communication, technology, internet etc). There may be internet issues bringing obstacles into the election process. Also the ruler Mars is in Capricorn (Saturn’s house). This means Saturn and Mars are in mutual Parivartana yoga. Both being malefic, it brings in the negative connotations of both planets to play. Mars will bring violence and Saturn will bring delays to the results.

Like I have always mentioned in the past, with the heavy Saturnian and Rahu-Ketu influence on election day, the going will be tough but its all karmic which kinda follows the principle “all’s well that ends well”. We will just have to wait and see how this day plays out.

2016 US Presidential Elections – The Stars Speak

I received numerous requests to write about the 2016 US Presidential Elections. Anybody who owns a TV already knows this year’s elections is up-to the brim with drama, controversy, soap-opera-ish intensity and edge of the seat action. This is unlike any election the US or in fact even the world has seen. Most who know me know I am not a political person. I believe in the concept of karma and the inherent goodness in each person. So when it comes to this election I don’t have any opinion one way or the other.

Ohhhh, but the universe does !!!

What a beautiful divine dance is being orchestrated in the skies at this time !!

This further reaffirms my faith in the fact that everything is unraveling as designed, and each action taken or word spoken is exactly the way it should be, to incite the exact emotion in the masses hence setting in motion the exact set of events yet to come. With that being said, I will share with you my analysis of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton’s charts. We will then go on to analyze the chart of the US and the Election Day to further draw parallels with our candidates charts to reach a conclusion.

Hillary Clinton – Natal Chart Analysis

There is a lot of controversy surrounding Mrs. Clinton’s birth time. If this were a client of mine I would apply the principles of chart rectification to arrive at the correct chart by asking a few questions. That’s not possible at this time due to obvious reasons so I’m going to take what I have for now. Her only child Chelsea Clinton has perfectly precise birth data. We can turn her chart to make the fourth house the first house and view her mother’s chart.

Turning the chart, we arrive at Hillary Clinton’s chart.

Rising sign becomes Capricorn, and the ruler Saturn goes to Virgo. Capricorn is a hard , practical, earthy sign. Being in Virgo the Saturn becomes calculating. Saturn denotes a person’s hard work, and karma. So where is all this calculating handwork directed to? Since it rules her first house and its situated in the ninth house of higher learning we can see that she would have completed higher studies (which is true as she was a lawyer).

Lets look further at the dignity of Saturn. The ruler Mercury goes to the second house which is a Dusthana. Also it is conjunct two malefics, Sun and Ketu. Second house also denotes personal fortune, financial gains and material benefits. Leads me to believe that all her actions and hard work and actions are directed towards amassing wealth and personal gains. Being conjunct with Sun, brings ego and self-image into the play, giving us a further glimpse into the reason for her actions. The Saturn has no good aspects to it (i.e from other benefic planets), so the person’s morality may be questionable.

Look at the 2/8 axis. This is a very difficult axis (2nd house being a dusthana and eighth house being a moksha house). She has a stellium of planets on this axis indicating lot of karmic baggage from past lives which she has brought here to resolve. We know from heavy eighth house planets (especially huge benefic like Jupiter) that this person does have a predisposition for clandestine activity, which tends to arouse the suspicions of others. Jupiter being the ruler of the twelfth house and placed in the eighth house  represents Secret Activities.

Venus, the other benefic planet is strongly placed, exalted in the third house. This is a good placement indicating travel to foreign countries for professional purposes. Also this placement blessed her with a very capable, hard working and supportive daughter (Venus being a feminine planet indicates daughter) who will support her through thick and thin. Also third house denotes younger siblings and she would be very connected to them. Venus also indicates an appreciation of art, beautiful artifacts and overall a sense and love of decorating her home and just generally making things look beautiful.

Eleventh house has to do with social organizations, friend circles and humanitarian deeds. Hillary Clinton has Uranus and Neptune placed there. Uranus is an eccentric planet, indicating her friends can be very unusual and unexpected. Neptune indicates deception and secrecy. Hillary Clinton’s social dealings, organizations and friendships are all flavored by these traits. Also the eleventh house is Scorpio which is by nature a house of deep, dark secrets. This past year, Saturn has been transiting Scorpio. Saturn brings the karmic resultant to all actions taken in the past. This explains why her dealings and eleventh house activities are in public scrutiny now and the truth is being revealed.

In the midst of all this, the exalted Venus rules the tenth house of career. This explains why she has held high positions job-wise. This could also be the only thing she has going for her to win this election. Jupiter is right now transiting Virgo, opposing this Venus of hers. I always like to have at least three indications for an event to come to fruition. However, even though this is a strong Venus, I don’t see any other indicators.

Donald Trump – Natal Chart Analysis

Donald John Trump was born in New York city on June 14, 1946 at 10:54 am.

He has Leo rising with the chart ruler , Sun, positioned conjunct Rahu in the tenth house of career and reputation. Rahu (northnode of the moon) is exalted and conjunct the rising sign ruler Sun, giving Mr Trump his off-the-charts self-esteem and “I am always right” attitude. Sun is the karaka for father indicating where the early life inception of self-confidence came from. Mr Trump claims he learnt a lot from his father, which is not surprising looking at his Sun-Rahu conjunction in the tenth house. For a Leo rising person, Mars is the yoga karaka ruling the fourth (a kendra “action” house) and the ninth (a trine “luck” house). This makes him incredibly successful. To assess which area he would be successful in we look at karakas. Mars is the karaka for real estate , so is the fourth house which it rules and aspects by a strong fourth aspect. This explains his area of expertise and source of powerful stature – classic example of a Raja Yoga. In addition to the fourth house Mars also empowers the eighth house by aspect, hence bringing into the forefront eighth house matters of inheritances, other people’s money, psychological tendencies, and reincarnation. Venus (indicating spouse in a man’s chart) is conjunct Saturn (indicating hardships) in the twelfth house of losses. This explains his marital difficulties in the early part of his life, as this area is something the soul doesn’t know how to deal with. However, this combination of planets is Vargottam in his navamsha, indicating the soul does learn how to deal with women/marriage etc in this lifetime and attains a fair level of comfort in that area.

Next, let me draw your attention to the moon in Scorpio. Moon represents the mind, mental and emotional state. Moon being debilitated , indicates Mr Trump suffers great mental suffering and doesn’t know how to resolve his emotions. This could be the reason behind the obvious lashing out when he is hurt by the comments of others. The strong Mars, Sun and Leo ascendant may make him outwardly confident but the moon leads me to believe he is “secretly” hurt. The debilitation further affirms the fact that the only way the soul knows how to deal with the hurt is to “attack back” (This is the core reason why moon is debilitated in Scorpio whose ruler is Mars. Emotions don’t do well in the house of action. I will cover this topic in great detail in a future article). Also, notice how I put the word “secretly” within quotes. This word is very important here. Scorpio is the house of deep, dark, secrets. So that leads me to believe Mr  Trump will not reveal his true emotions or hurt to many people. He would prefer to nurse his emotions in secrecy, believing it will appear as a sign of weakness. Scorpio moon also points us to a vengeful person who will not take criticisms lightly. This man will mark an enemy and have his revenge, winning at all costs. The intensity and passion of Scorpio enables him to see every project to completion not matter what the odds.

Jupiter placed in the second house, at first look, seems to be a bad placement, given second house is a dusthana. However, look closer. The ruler Mercury is positioned in the eleventh house of great gains, not to mention very strong in its own house (“swakshetra”). This Jupiter brings financial gains and wealth. Being in the second house could indicate why he lost a lot of it via bankruptcies. But the strong rulership of Mercury (also keep in mind, Mercury rules communication and media. Think “Apprentice” 🙂 ) will pull him out of tough times and put him back up on the top.

Moving to the dashas (these are timelines in a person’s life, bringing certain areas into prominence). Early part of Mr Trump’s life, he had some dashas which were probably rough. Venus period (being in the twelfth house) was nothing to write home about. Moon dasha brought him emotional stress, financial losses. The rise of the powerful man we see today, actually started in his Mars dasha. Chart ruler, Yogakaraka, Raja-Yoga, just a few of the amazing gifts this Mars brought to his life. Mr Trump started his climb upwards, winning victory after victory. What followed this cycle was almost two decades of Rahu dasha. Once again Rahu placed strongly in the tenth, made him a celebrity (literally). However Rahu is a classic malefic planet. So there were difficulties peppered in, which he overcame with the help of his Sun which is closely conjunct the Rahu.

Whats going on now with his timeline and transits ? Well, to start with Mr Trump announced his candidacy when Jupiter and Venus were conjunct in Leo (his rising sign).  This powerful conjunction is of the two great benefics and famously rumored to “make a King” since it was in the royal sign of Leo. Next , its an amazing coincidence that Mr. Trump’s Jupiter dasha (after 18 long years of Rahu dasha) starts just 6 days before the Presidential elections, a second indicator. Third, Jupiter is right now in Virgo conjuncting Mr Trump’s natal Jupiter, indicating a “trigger” for an important event in his life.

This has been a long article. But as you can see the planets do seem to be executing this purposeful elaborate dance across the backdrop of nakshatras. I have been writing about the chart analysis for the election day and plan to post this soon. What really caught my eye is that on election day Neptune is conjunct moon. This indicates some kind of deception and leads me to believe the correct results of the election may not be apparent right away.

These are difficult times, not in a doom and gloom way, but in a “growing pain” or “birthing pains” kind of way. We know after this brief struggle, the truth will be revealed. This time marks the end of a century worth of corruption and removes veils of untruth that was pulled over our eyes. This will be the subject of the history books of future and here we are the lucky ones to observe it firsthand. So let’s hold hands as a collective humanity and welcome the new era.

Vedic Astrology – The All-Pervading Truth of Life

The empty, white, sterile corridors of the hospital echoed with the high pitch wails of the new born baby. He was born a few seconds ago, leaving the warm, cozy womb of his mother. As he flails his arms and cries, all loved ones gather around to soothe him, comfort him and swaddle him in the warmth of human love. But little does that baby know that his entry on this planet had just been stamped, very much like the rubber stamp put on your passport at the port of entry of a country. This baby, like each and every one of us, has been stamped with a set of 4 co-ordinates – Time, Date, Place and the fourth co-ordinate, the most important one …Space – The Latitude and Longitude provide the place of birth. The ‘time’ stands for the exact time of birth. The ‘space’ is the snapshot of the heavens (planets and stars) at the time and place of the baby’s birth. This space is the exact position of each planet against the backdrop of constellations and constitutes a natal chart which when calculated correctly provides a blueprint for this person’s life on earth.

I can almost see the hands rising in consternation if this blog were an auditorium with me at the podium. “That’s hocus-pocus”, “superstition!!”, “it’s not backed by facts”… And I don’t blame you for feeling this way, because I was there a few years ago. Why did I change my mind? Let me explain…

Rewind three decades. I remember sitting by my grandfather’s side as he drew a natal chart. In those days, there were no computer programs to calculate charts. In stead my grandfather calculated the positions of the planets using an old, tattered astronomical calendar and a calculator. A successful attorney by profession, astrology was his passion and he would work on the chart meticulously for days to perfect it down to the exact degree of each planet’s position in a constellation. Back then, I had no idea what he was doing. I was just glad to be sitting by his side, while he was bent over these charts peering through his glasses… The old wooden desk creaked and the library smelt of fragrant incense. This is my first memory of anything remotely connected to astrology.

Years later, one afternoon, I was at Barnes and Noble, and a book propped in the “New age” section caught my eye. “Life between lives” By Michael Newton. Since I had a good 3 hours to burn, I bought this book and headed to the cafe to check out this latest acquisition. The content was so fascinating that I breezed through it in an hour and made a beeline back to the bookshop to buy the next book by the same author. In the following week, I had read every book and online resource on “Soul theory”, “Past lives”, Mind-body dualism” etc. As I read the pages of each book, all my childhood memories of watching my grandfather draw natal charts, flashed through my mind. A past which I had very conveniently buried deep in the dark recesses of my mind, preferring the soothing predictability, practicality and prove-ability of my scientific convictions in stead.

What is ‘soul theory’? The soul is a spiritual essence present within any living entity whose presence causes the entire body to be pervaded by consciousness, the symptom of the soul. The soul is eternal, it has no birth and it never dies. The soul is the “person within the body” and at the time of “death” the soul leaves the body and contemplates its next step based on it’s accumulated “karma”. This theory contends that we are inherently responsible for the ups and downs in our lives since we devised it ourselves when we were souls, before we started this life. But as humans, we don’t remember this as we are in a state of soul-amnesia from the instant we are born and through our lifetime. But all the while, the soul inside us is all-knowing. The French Philosopher Descartes’ said:

My view is that this is the principal seat of the soul, and the place in which all our thoughts are formed.

So now we reason, if we, as souls, decided our life path, and chose this birth to aid optimum soul growth and enlightenment, where is the blueprint? Where is the map we created for ourselves when we were in the spiritual world? I believe this is our natal chart. Since no two people can have the same four co-ordinates of birth, it’s unique to us. A common misconception is that the natal chart tells us what to do in life. No, my friends, the birth chart is just a timeline of events. It can describe your personality, your typical inclinations, the life situations you come up against. It cannot help you make the choice. That’s where you use free will. The actual choice we make is a resultant of our soul growth and our present level of enlightenment. These two factors combine to form free will. The birth chart is a timeline of when karmic events will happen in your life. How you handle these events is totally up to you. I believe as souls, we decide the 4 co-ordinates which precisely places the planets in exact positions against the backdrop of the constellations when we are born, hence setting our life story. When we are born we are then locked into that life, and the events there-in. And hence starts the journey where we navigate these pre-decided events to the best of our abilities, pretty much like taking a set of exams at school. While we can probably blame events/situations in our life on our natal chart, we still take full responsibility for the way we handled the said event. For example, a person’s birth chart might foretell an upcoming distress in the marriage. But how they handle that distress is still up to them.

As astrologers, we strive to educate our clients about their inherent tendencies, and the events their chart poses in front of them. “Knowledge is half the battle won”. Now, knowing that the life situation is coming up, you can analyze the way you feel about it and fix the flaw inside you which could make you react in a wrong way to the said event. The chart also shows your deep psychological tendencies, the karma you brought with you into this lifetime, the lessons you chose to learn. Armed with this knowledge and an insight into future events, you can traverse the path much easily and navigate through this life as a “spiritual being living a human existence”
